A Moment in Time With Sinosauropteryx
| In 1994, a farmer by the name of Li Yinfang broke open a slab of rock in
the Province of Liaoning in northeastern China. To his amazement, the complete skeleton of
a long-tailed turkey sized animal appeared. He knew he had discovered something very
important . What he did not realize was that he had discovered the first feathered
dinosaur. This newly discovered fossil was named Sinosauropteryx. The area of Liaoning Province where Sinosauropteryx was found is extremely rich in 140 million year old fossils. By studying fossil sites we know what animals and plants existed at the same period in time as Sinosauropteryx. This information allows us to write the story you are about to read. A Moment In Time With Sinosauropteryx is the fourth book of a series which focuses on the scientific facts known about specific prehistoric animals. By developing a story around the facts, we hope we can bring a moment in time to life for you. The book is approximately 7" x 9.5" (167x237 mm), 56 pages long, and is hard cover with a jacket. It is printed on glossy art paper. Anyone who enjoys "dinosaur art" will thoroughly enjoy A Moment in Time With Sinosauropteryx. The book is visually appealing with 10 full-page illustrations in the text of the story and pictures of the fossils included in the technical write-up. |
